Summary

basically, I am gonna show you guys what it really means to be an American or live in America. it will change your point of view to see our world and give you hope to be what you allow wanted to be.

For our future

I think it doesn’t matter where you came from, it matters where you are going. That people can’t judge you for what color you are or where you lived before you came to America. For example, if you are a Bengali, Pakistani, African American, Chinese, or German boy or girl, people have no right to tell you that you can’t do this, or you can’t do that, or you can only do this. You choose, no matter what anyone else says. They cannot tell you what to do. This is my American creed.

Eric Liu was born in 1968. He is an American writer, former civil servant, and founder of Citizen University, a non-profit organization promoting civics education and awareness. Liu served as Deputy Assistant to President Clinton for Domestic Policy at the White House between 1999 and 2000. He served as Speechwriter and Director of Legislative Affairs for the National Security Council at the White House from 1993 to 1994. President Obama nominated him in January 2015 to serve on the board of directors of the federal Corporation for National and Community Service. In the Ted Talk, Mr. Liu defines civics as the art of being a pro-social, problem-solving contributor in a self-governing community. In Eric Liu’s commentary, he talks about how you can use power in the US to your advantage after everyone unites and talks about their ideas. Once a large community is formed, the bosses recognize that and try to break it so all of the immigrants can work in the working class. But once you understand how the boss's minds work you can use their power to your advantage. It can make all immigrants from different races to colors to religions Understanding power is a big role in my American creed because it shows strength within people which builds bonds and trust making us all unite and live the dream we all once dreamt of. If bosses stop using their power in the wrong way and use it to benefit his self and all workers then it will be our perfect American creed.

First, I thought that I don't have an American creed because I didn't born in the USA. I came from Bangladesh in march 2019 before the covid started. At that time I thought “American creed is something four thous people who were born in America” feel it is not for me. After a few months when I start to realize where I am, why I am here, and what I really have to be done. Then I learned “It doesn’t matter where you came from, it matters where you’re going,” Condoleezza Rice once said.Condoleezza Rice was born on November 14, 1954. She is from Birmingham a city in the north-central region of the U.S. state of Alabama. She is an American diplomat and political scientist who is the current director of the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. Condoleezza Rice served as United States Secretary of State under George W. Bush. She was preceded by Colin Powell and followed by Hillary Clinton. A member of the Republican Party, she previously served as the 66th United States secretary of state from 2005 to 2009 and as the 20th United States national security advisor from 2001 to 2005. Rice was the first female African-American secretary of state and the first woman to serve as national security advisor.America is the land of unlimited opportunity. Being an American means that as long as you work hard, you can carve your own future path. Being an American gives you freedom, but with freedom comes responsibility. Barely did I learn, It doesn’t matter where I come from, something that really matters is where I am going. America is a country where any immigrant that comes with a dream is able to earn a better life and turn this dream into reality. Being in America means that as long as you work hard on your dreams you can achieve anything like you can carve your own future path. To begin with, being an American means that you get the freedom to carve your own future path. As long as you work hard, you get the freedom to do what you want when you grow up. For example, Condoleezza Rice had a difficult childhood because of her race but she did well studying and hard work to be successful. Now she is the Secretary of State

Now I think this Being in America gives you freedom, but freedom comes with responsibilities. Once my uncle says to me“ As long as you work hard in America, you can be whatever you want when you grow up.” Mabey I am not an American but my next generation will be. It will be my responsibility to show them the right path to being an American. Martin Luther King Jr. was a social activist and Baptist minister who played a key role in the American civil rights movement from the mid-1950s until his assassination in 1968. King sought equality and human rights for African Americans, the economically disadvantaged, and all victims of injustice through peaceful protest. He was the driving force behind watershed events such as the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the 1963 March on Washington, which helped bring about such landmark legislation as the Civil Rights Act and Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, ”Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed.” In American history, there have been many times that people have had to fight for their freedom. To be an American means to have your rights and not be judged. Being an American is like a relationship, it takes both people to make it work. After getting through the rough times, you’ll glide through life together. Being an American takes one to try their hardest, take chances and opportunities, and live your dreams with success. You can do a lot of things on your own, but doing things together, will make nothing impossible.
