Summary

This is my expository essay, and it is what it means to be an American.

Freedom is like a apple because they fall off the tree without anybody telling them to this reminds me of an american because we can do what we want and when we want. For me to be an American is being free and doing whatever you want whenever you want. You can decide who you are and what you want to be.

In America you can decide who you are without anybody telling you what to do. We can decide our religion, beliefs, what clothes we wear, and most important our life style. In other countries, people have to wear a certain type of clothes or practice a certain religion. That means other people are in control of your life. You have no say in your future.

In Iran, the government tells you what school you go to or not to go to school. Iran gives you no freedom of religion, education, housing, or employment. As in America, we have the rights to pick what school, house, job, and religion that we have. In the end, being an American is good because we have a lot of freedom to do whatever we please whenever we please.
