Humans of AR

The friends of a fourth year.

By Ethan J. from Academy of the Redwoods in California

“Me and my buddies we were at the beach, it was probably like almost midnight and we're heading back from like walking down the ways, and my buddy turns around and he’s like do you guys see those like weird shadow figures behind us and I turn around and I say yeah I do see them, behind us there's like a couple of these actually pretty solid dark figures standing up and they're moving and we were all kind of freaking out, and a couple of my buddies said I can't handle this and ran... so it was me and my buddy Carson, and everybody else literally full sprinted to the car, and as they were running I look at the shadows and they start moving the same time they go running, and it clicked in my head that these are our shadows, and we were scared of our own shadows, and Carson's telling me no you're an idiot, and I'm like look and I start dancing around and the thing starts dancing around with me and it clicks for him too that these shadow are ours, coming from a small campfire down the beach, and these 17 year old dudes that could handle a fight easily, all sprinted like little babies to the car.”

“If I were to have a conversation with my buddies for the last time it would probably be all of us talking about the memories that we've made together, how we all met, our best gaming moments, we’d probably sit there and make fun of each other too, and we’d just be buddies at the end of the day… probably just making those last moments worth it.”
