Interview with my 8th grade art teacher by Taliyah Jackson.

By Taliyah J. from Nettleton Junior High in Arkansas

“ I always had a passion for art. I would beg for crayola watercolor, crayons, and coloring books at Walmart every time my mom took me. As I got older I started to notice I was actually kind of good at art. I won school wide art contests. That really built my confidence up. Once I was in 7th grade, we had a career aptitude test and it said I would excel in a career in education. From that moment forward I knew I wanted to teach, I just didn’t know what I wanted to teach. I had a close relationship with my art teacher, so I asked her about her job. She told me what classes she took in college and how fun the job was. On that day in 7th grade, I decided I would grow up and teach art.”
