Democracy to me is the ability to live in a country where you have freedoms guaranteed to you and are able to decide what we want to do thanks to the sacrifices of the men and women of this country who fought to protect our rights.

Democracy gives us the freedom to have opinions. These opinions can be critical of our own government and our country's history as well, and you will not be punished.

I think the American Flag is the largest symbol of democracy to me. It can be seen all over the country and it shows we have pride in ourselves. It reminds me of how much we fought for each one of us to have a voice and to be able to have a choice.
