In this post I interviewed a student from May River asking them questions about the community, themselves and other important questions that have something to do it.

Democracy

Friendship is democracy because we all have different opinions but still come together.

I am a tough cookie.

With her daughter going to May River, a good school that can teach you proper education, she has realized she is giving her the life she's never had. She is proud of what “she created”, and what the community influences is helping raise her daughter.

These May River students are voting on who has to buy Starbucks for the group next. “All in favor of John raise your hand” Because of this vote, John has to buy Starbucks next. Although John is not in favor of himself, the majority wins the vote.

Jess- I’m connected through the school and friends. I’ve been a part of the community since late summer.The community has many different people, it’s large and some people are rowdy, but many are nice. I’m proud of facing changes.

This student is one of many that love to wear there favorite sweatshirt to school. With cold mornings and chilly classrooms there is nothing like wearing your best sweater to keep you toasty while in class.

As some may stand for the pledge and others may just sit down. And few might even support, but still not get up, why? One’s opinions should not affect us, but how come we feel offended if one person doesn't share the same faith as we do.

Democracy to me

This picture was taken in downtown San Luis Potosi Mexico in late July. Democracy to me is seeing how different we all really are and how we are all free to live completely different lives and go in very different life directions.

The Scary Truth of Democracy

The power of even one vote can sway the decision of all, half of the people will always be unsatisfied that is what terrifies me. Morality that respects democracy shatters then they the go against the fold with anger and rage.

True democracy is a great goal, of course everyone wants to have an equal say, but in practice there is still injustice. Not everyone has the same size straw, and some don't even have a drink, so to say.

Some may ask how this picture signifies democracy. To me its very clear. democracy to me is the freedom to choose what to do with my life and time. If I want to game and eat chips that is what I will do, and because of democracy I can do that.
