Interview with Melissa Singleton

By Sydney W. from Texas High School in Texas

“My bittersweet memory is before I went into surgery that I waited five years to have, [my family] was really happy about me having the surgery but my mom was terrified. She [was afraid] I was going to die or something. So it was really sweet because we finally got what we [were waiting for], but she was crying the whole time.”
