Democracy is important to me and the expression of my religion. I”ve always grown up in a religious home with religious parents and a religious life. Therefore expressing my religion is a huge deal to me and my family. Many years ago religion was not as freely expressed. People feared being prosecuted and sought out because of their beliefs. However, this is not the way to live, I know for me I don’t want to live my life in fear because I just want to freely express my religious beliefs. Churches have become more common throughout the world, specifically the U.S. Churches used to be hidden and same with bibles. Now, religion is readily accepted; however, there is still a stigma around religious people especially Christians. They are usually portrayed as people who want to force their beliefs on others and judge others for not believing in what they believe in. This is not entirely true, although some are that way it's not true for all and its a stereotype that hurts the ones who do not fit into this belief. There is a separation between church and state to not let religion interfere with government. Although I am a Christian I do believe that this was a good idea since they are two different things. But, this does not take away from having personal private religion. The Constitution even has the first amendment, freedom of religion which applies to the people of the U.S. I included the Bible because it expresses my Freedom of religion and it guides me in the practice of my religion.
