Summary

A quick look into the life of of 17 year old senior. He talks about how his senior year football season is going. He also mentions how important his family is to him and how those connections play an important role in his life.

"My name is Brady Hunt, I am 17 turning 18 in December and I am a senior at Fleming County high school. I have lived in Flemingsburg my whole life and have always felt a part of the town. I am the youngest of a family of four. My family consists of my mom, dad, brother, and I. My mom is my biggest supporter, it doesn't matter the time of the day, where she is at or where I am at she is always there for me. With my mom I feel that it is easier to talk to her and I know that she will listen to me and guide me in the right direction. My dad is also very important to me and is another strong supporter in my life. My brother has always been my best friend and I used to look up to him a lot and I still do. It's hard because he used to live 20 minutes from me and now he lives 6 hours away because he is studying to become a chiropractor at Logan University. I live with my mom and dad in town and my brother Austin will try to come down whenever he has breaks from school. He recently just came home for my senior night for football which was also my last high school football game ever. My journey in football came when I would watch my brother play during little league and I told my parents I wanted to play. I loved it then but definitely not at much as I love it now. I am on the varsity football team and I am the starting center. Football was my happy place. I didn't even have to be playing a game on Friday, I even loved going to practice and being able to play and be a part of the team, a team that pretty much became a second family to me. I have become a big brother to most of the underclasses and some even consider me more than that. Parents have even told me that I am a leader to most of the team and that their kid looks up to me. I just had my last ever football game. We fought the hardest we ever had and even had the crowd the most engaged it's ever been but in the end we still lost. It was a pretty emotional game for me and it still stings a little to talk about, I'm just glad I got to do it with the people I did it with. I am currently living in the happiest time in my life because I feel so incredibly close with my family and have a closer connection with my friends and everyone else around me. It's really important to me that I have good connections and that I am close with my family.I feel like living in a small town shaped me to the person I am. A time in my life that truly shaped me was when my papaw died when I was about 10 years old. It taught me that not everything in life is guaranteed and that the people in your life aren’t always going to be there and people have to go away sometimes. It shaped me into the person that I am and altered my mindset that has helped me through life. I was with my papaw almost every week watching the Reds play and I didn’t even like baseball but that was just our thing. I am still young and have a lot to learn but I am excited to see it through."
