Our Church, Our People

    Church is many things, a community of Christians, a place to build a relationship with Jesus, and a home for some. Mount Carmel is a church located in Batavia, Ohio that provides a safe space for everyone. At Mount Carmel, the staff offers excellent insight about God and their services explore the bible so we can grow a better understanding of Him. The church also provides back to our community through food pantries, fundraisers, and mission trips.

        The origin of this church dates back to 1968 when six families wanted a church closer to their homes. In 1973 they constructed their first church. They named it “Clough Heights Church of Christ.” They continued growing their establishment and soon changed their name to “Mount Carmel Christian Church.” For the expansion of their facility they purchased 19.2 acres on Bach Buxton Road. Since then the church continues to grow to be the best possible place to spread the good news.

    Mount Carmel’s staff has done an excellent job at shaping the church into a welcoming environment. These people went through different experiences to get to where they are. Through their faith and growth to find God, they now help others build a connection with him.     

       Mount Carmel has many different options for you to explore your faith with Christ. They offer two different Sunday services: One at 9:30 and another at 11:00. This makes it more accessible for families if they have younger children or even just struggle to wake up early. Mount Carmel also holds many different events for a plethora of people. One of those many events is called “All in” that is for 6th-12th graders. Sometimes the group gathers at the church but they also join each other at different restaurants. Mount Carmel also hosts a lot of charity events. They host food drives, fundraisers, and mission trips. You can also donate through their website. Mount Carmel strives to give back to the community and help those in need. 

        Everyone will go through their own path to become right with God. Mount Carmel helps exceed the struggles we go through and push us towards him. The church provides sources like the help of the staff sharing their experiences of how they found God, participating in the church by doing charity, or just listening to the message every weekend.
