Summary

This post is about my beliefs on what democracy really is. It explains how people are the core of democracy.

“Democracy is the government of the people, by the people, for the people” (Abraham Lincoln). This quote has helped shape my belief in democracy. Democracy is a social construct where the people essentially run the government. Democracy helps people feel like they are doing something, and without it, we would have no motivation. Democracy has helped us realize the need for education because, without education, people would not be able to make educated decisions.

This picture shows how democracy is shown throughout our daily lives. It shows how democracy is greatly influenced by education, and when we put our heads together, we are stronger. It shows how, with democracy, we have many more rights than people in other countries. We have freedom of speech, which allows us to protest for basic human rights. We also have the freedom to wear whatever we want.
