“I moved up to Kneeland when I was about 3 or 4. I grew up there and around me there was a community. I eventually went to Kneeland school which was definitely a different experience from most kids. The school was very tiny and different. Throughout the years, I saw many people come and go. Some of the hardest things about going to a small school were being so secluded and not getting the exact same experience as anyone else. At the same time, I had so many cool opportunities that many may not have had. I eventually went to AHS. This was so new and being around that many people was really stressful. Through this time, I figured it out and really grew as a person. As we moved through the pandemic and just in these recent months, I had to move. All the gorgeous views, a strong community, and life as I knew it was gone. I didn’t know what was going to happen or where I would end up. We got a house in Eureka and it has been so nice to live in town. Although it is much different than living in Kneeland there are so many things about it that make life easier. Things ultimately worked out for the better.”
