Humans of Tioga County

My humans of Tioga County interview.

By Christina H. from Williamson High School in Pennsylvania

Well working at a veterinary clinic, there are a lot of things that are difficult. It’s not just playing with puppies and kittens. The worst thing to me, is trying to comfort an animal when its owners aren’t present when we put them to sleep. Sometimes it’s a stray animal. Sometimes the owner can’t handle being there to witness it. Regardless of the situation, part of my job is to make that animal feel safe and comfortable during its last few minutes of its life. It can be very hard, but knowing that I can help ease the fear and anxiety that they must feel makes that part of my job worthwhile.- Carman Hallisy
