Humans of Tioga County

The term democracy alone means "rule by the people", meaning not only one person decides for the people but the people decide for themselves.

This award presented to me was the student of the month award during April 2021. Democracy gives us a chance to run our schools independently from the government. Just like instead of the principle deciding who receives this award all of the high school teachers voted. Very similar to the way we vote for our president every four years, representing a huge part of our democracy in America.

After looking at the issues a in Lawrenceville's government, I have learned that Lawrenceville is barely functioning. We are missing a ton of positions and things are not getting done. I have also learned that the government is corrupt.

Reflection- Through this activity I learned that decisions and acts that people do or do not make effect everyone. The gas prices affected not only me but my whole family. Hopefully steps will be taken to ensure more affordable gas prices.
