Depression

This is my thoughts about depression

By Jocelan b. from Nettleton Junior High in Arkansas

Depression is really important in your health, some people don’t know they have it. It really can mess with your head. Depression feels like you're trapped in your own mind and you feel worthless. Sometimes it only lasts for a few days or so, sometimes a month. It affects your daily life on a basis. It can feel like suicide is your only way out but it’s really not. You may feel like you’re alone but your not other people are feeling the same as you. A lot of people don't know when they are depressed until it is their breaking point. Before people try killing themself they start to drown in their thoughts thinking that they won’t feel any pain anymore. Some people cope by taking drugs, drinking, or killing themselves while other people deal with it their own way. Depression messes with you, it makes you stop doing your work or make it hard to do it. It also feels like you don’t have motivation to do anything like go out, get out of bed, and many more other things. Something’s can help you with depression like medicine or coping skills. I recommend getting a therapist to help you. There’s lots of things that can cause depression. Some things like bullying and family problems are just a few. Depression can also turn into other things like anxiety, anger problems, and other things. Social media is a big part in why people have depression also, so is school. Schools may say they care about people’s mental health but they don’t, they only care if you got school and get your work done and it really messes with people's heads and causes things like depression and other mental health issues.
