Summary

Our great new elementary school in South Hadley should get a new name.

There is a school named Plains Elementary School, and it teaches preschool through first grade. It is located at 00 Lyman Street, South Hadley, Massachusetts. They’ve had some budget cuts, and they need money to donate to change the school name to Skala Elementary School, to honor the principal who passed away Mr.Skala.

They had some budget cuts to fit the new year budget, The district fired paraprofessionals for the new year budget, then they were in need of them after which didn't really make sense because they fired them and then needed them back. There were more than a dozen paraprofessionals that got laid off and then rehired. Another money issue with this school specifically is that they don’t have enough money to pay for the name of the school to change to “Skala Elementary School.” They need A LOT of money to pay for it so that's why I am writing this article, to try to get people to know so that they can spread the word and people can donate. I want to let families know about the fundraiser and maybe they can donate, then they'll have enough money to change the school name!!! I feel like changing the school name is a good way to honor Mr.Skala after he passed away.

I remember when I went to Plains Elementary School and Mr. Skala used to wear funny ties everyday, and come to our classrooms and give us high fives! That was so fun! He was a nice person, and he made us feel happy and thought of when I walked in the school everyday. If I’ve convinced you, you can donate to: .https://www.gofundmerenamingplainsschool.com, so that hopefully they can change the school name soon to honor a great principal!

That's all for today, thanks for reading, bye!!!
