Summary

This article is about a dance studio in Ohio Pike, Amelia. It's based on my opinion and perspective of how I personally see Midwest Elite Dance Center which might be completely true or too detailed.

Midwest Elite Dance Center is a dance studio who does competitive dancing, recreational classes and also does cheerleading, but this is from the perspective of a normal competitive dancer, so I won’t talk about the cheerleading part.

First off, what is Midwest Elite Dance Center? Midwest Elite Dance Center is a dance studio owned by Stacie Hawley. Midwest Elite Dance Center is a place where you can be in recreational, competitive dance and competitive cheer classes, some people even in Universal Dance Association dances. You may see MEDC rather than Midwest Elite Dance Center and UDA rather than Universal Dance Association because those are abbreviations for those programs. For recreational classes, there are classes such as tumbling classes, leaps and turns classes, mommy and me classes, and more! For competitive dance classes, you will usually do ballet, dance combos, leaps and turns, technique, competitive dances, conditioning and whatever else the coaches choose for the schedule. For cheer classes, I don't know much but I do know that the competitive cheer team for MEDC is called the Midwest Athletes, also known as MA. MEDC also offers a place where you can host a birthday party and has fun activities kids can do during it.

Second, the coaches. The main coach and owner of Midwest Elite Dance Center is Stacie Hawley. Stacie is a really upbeat person who can yell, but tends to be for a positive reason, but she can be serious when she needs to and really wants the best for the dancers and people who work and go to Midwest Elite Dance Center. There is another dance coach which I find the most important after Stacie, which is Jazmine Meacham. Jazmine is a coach that tends to work almost side by side with Stacie and is close friends with her. Jazmine is the type of person who gives tough love with the competitive dancers, but she really wants the best for the dancers, even when she can be strict. She is also the type of person who is really kind and many kids love her as much as they love Stacie. There are also other coaches such as Kelly, Taylor, Bobby and Carlet. Kelly and Taylor teach more on the dance side while Bobby and Carlet are more so tumbling coaches. There are also other coaches I haven't listed and there are competitive dancers who teach classes, which are usually recreational classes.

Third, where certain classes may travel. Cheer classes usually are in what we call the Barn when taking their classes. The other ones usually are in either the Studio and Annex, but usually the Studio which is the main building, for their classes. Competitive dancers usually have competitions in Ohio and Kentucky, sometimes in other states and usually go to a place close to a beach like Florida for the last competition which is nationals. Recreational classes would usually only go to the high school for the spring and winter recitals. UDA usually travels around the US and also goes where the competitive dancers go.

Midwest Elite Dance Center is a place a child or children could go to to try something out that involves what I have mentioned or something similar that they may have. Midwest Elite Dance Center is really like a family and I believe that the coaches try to make anyone there feel important and included. Midwest Elite Dance Center is a place I would recommend to someone looking to have a place a child or children to be occupied and to see if a child may be interested in something they have there.
