The Eastgate Mall

 The mall now

The east gate mall opened in 1980. It is a one leveled shopping mall. The mall had 4 major anchors when it opened Jcpenney, Dillard, Sears and kohl's. Sears closed around 6 years ago in december. so they only have 3 major anchor now.  They have a food court that now has a pizza place called pizza di roma and a chinese restaurant. And a Japanese restaurant and they have a place called Gyro steaks. The food court used to have more popular spots like a chick fil a and a taco bell and some other popular food spots.  The mall's most popular spots are the auntie anne's pretzels and bath and body works.

The down fall of the mall

The mall has been on a downfall for a little bit. Over 50 percent of the stores in the mall are gone. And with half of the stores in the mall empty it is kinda boring to walk around an empty mall. And many of the stores may close in the future. With the mall charging more and more money to be in the mall. the main reason they are charging more money is because lots of people use online shopping to order stuff so the mall has to charge more money because they are not getting enough money.   So many businesses don’t want to be in the mall because it is charging lots of money. and the food court is not really that popular with the food court not getting that much  business And the mall's roofs are getting old so the mall looks outdated. And the roofs are leaking water when it rains. So the mall needs major repairs on its roof and walls.

The future of the mall

The Eastgate mall Just got new owners. And since the mall got new owners the mall has been on a rise. Lots of new stores opened up in the mall. And the new owners have set up an event each month called a card show. which goes on for around 4-5 hours a day and is every month  which brings in more people to the mall. And the new owners have lots of new ideas for the mall. Like to add new stores and redecorate the malls inside. And to add a new anchor store where sears used to be. And finally just to make the mall better than ever  and make  the mall  more popular than before.
