Summary

Adopting is better than buying. Why? you may ask, it's because buying can lead to many complications down the road. If you are looking for a new pet you should consider Adopting! One great place is the PEPPERMINT PIG ANIMAL RESCUE est. 2006

Are you looking for a cute little companion, maybe a dog or a cat? If so, go to one of your local animal shelters! There are many amazing animal shelters in the West Clermont area, like The Clermont County Animal Shelter, League for Animal Welfare, and Animal Rescue Fund Inc. But one that sticks out from the many is the Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue.

Why Should I adopt and not buy?

Adopting these animals gives them a second chance. It might seem surprising but a lot of the animals in shelters are because the owner couldn't take care of them anymore, not just their strays. Even though strays do take up a vast majority, besides they still deserve a second chance too! Another reason is to fight the enemy: Puppy mills! Puppy mills are large breeding facilities where dogs are forced to breed then killed once they cant anymore. Puppies from these mills are also known to have more behavioral and medical issues. If you were planning on buying because you want a certain breed, make sure you've checked your area to see if there's any shelter that caters to your specific breed. If not, keep checking your local shelters because they are always getting new furry friends!

Why Peppermint Pig?

The Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization with a tax-exempt charity. The Rescue is also a no kill shelter, meaning they would only put down an animal under very specific circumstances for example a vital medical or behavioral issue. It is Volunteer Based and ran. All animals are vaccinated and/or spayed/neutered. You can also foster a dog and give them a home while they wait for their forever family! If you choose to foster they will provide all necessary supplies and vetting. This includes leashes, bowls, bedding, food, flea/heartworm medication, crates or carry kennels, piddle pads, etc. If you cannot foster or adopt you can visit the thrift store (8454 Beechmont Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45255) where all donations go towards the animal shelter! If shopping isn't your forte you can also just donate on their website! Below are some examples of different dogs and cats in their shelter!
