South Hadley Soccer

Hi! I am a fifth grader in South Hadley, Massachusetts, and I will talk about my soccer team. My soccer team plays on different fields, and we play against other towns. There are a lot of people on my team. We play in the fall. I like playing defense.

My soccer team is a part of the sports program in South Hadley. Sports are really big in South Hadley, and a lot of people watch our games. We practice at least two times a week, and have one or two games every weekend. We play games at our home field, and sometimes we go somewhere else to play games, like Northampton. Soccer is very important to me because I

wanted to join soccer for years, and then my mom signed me up. I was excited, and now I love it! It’s fun to be on a team because if one of your teammates is better than you, it makes it easier to win! It’s also just fun to be with my teammates who are like friends. It is hard work sometimes when we have to pass and shoot–sometimes the coaches make you use the foot you’re not used to using. It is really tiring!

I hope you liked learning about my soccer team. I really love it! One time we were playing a game and I could hear my mom shouting, “Get the ball away from her!” It was a hard game but we won it! I was happy and excited that we won! After that game, my mom and dad took us out for pizza at Domino’s Pizza! It was really fun! Maybe you should come watch a game, or maybe you should try playing soccer!
