what is a democracy

I believe that a democracy is any group that can influence the balance of its state and the hearts of the people.

Why do I think this represents democracy? I believe this statues represents democracy as democracies take practices such as voting and statues and monuments like this have to be voted on. Another reason I believe this represents an influencer of the state. This statue also shows that the view of African Americans in the eyes of democracies can be seen as and inspiration, or an icon, or a legend, to be honored in a public manner.

Our Democracy

The Our Democracy Education Project is a partnership with the National Writing Project and PhotoWings. PhotoWings' mission is to help photography to be better understood, created, utilized, seen, and saved. The project is also supported by the National Geographic Society and Catchlight, and explores the question, “What does democracy look like?” through the creation of a multimedia record of the state of local, everyday democracy today.
