Final Project

Build a Six Flags in the Empty Ingersoll Rand Clubhouse Lot.

By Evan Cooper from Endless Mountain in Pennsylvania

The plan is to replace the abandoned IR clubhouse with a brand new Six Flags.  This will be a major boost for the community.  The new amusement park will provide jobs for the citizens in The Valley, along with providing bosted income for local businesses through the travel that the park would bring in.  The project of this amusement park would benefit the entire community.  It would also help bring in higher tax revenue for the state which would improve the quality of life.  Our new Six Flags will attract tourists which will finally put Athens on the map.  Finally, it will bring entertainment to the community.

Our Democracy

The Our Democracy Education Project is a partnership with the National Writing Project and PhotoWings. PhotoWings' mission is to help photography to be better understood, created, utilized, seen, and saved. The project is also supported by the National Geographic Society and Catchlight, and explores the question, “What does democracy look like?” through the creation of a multimedia record of the state of local, everyday democracy today.
