ADD

ADD

By Hunter T. from Nettleton Junior High in Arkansas

I can't focus enough to write this, because ADD always catches me off guard. ADD is something important that I feel that I need to talk about. I understand what people have to deal with when they have ADD. It is hard to focus without medication, and people can get really frustrated when you don’t pay attention. On a daily basis I need to be able to focus to get my work done. People don’t notice ADD all the time, because sometimes it can be hard to spot. I stare into the distance constantly, and get off topic. It can be hard to pay attention if stuff is not interesting. There are many different types of ADD, and sometimes people can be more hyper than others. For me it can be hard to pay attention, and focus when a teacher is talking to me. Sometimes I can not just take medication, and I have to be able to deal with it. ADD can be hard for people that have it extremely bad. It can affect your grades, and what you can do academically. ADD can affect your memory, and it can be harder to study from time to time. People can have trouble if they don’t take notes, or they have to find a new way to study something. ADD is an attention deficit disorder.
