Space-x

Here are a few words about Space-X.

By Adrian from Nettleton Junior High in Arkansas

Space-X is a multi billion dollar company specializing in space-like studies. Space-X has been known to launch satellites to abnormally low heights. Due these low heights the newest fleet of satellites have returned to the atmosphere burning up due to a massive solar storm. The storm made the atmosphere denser than normal, slowing down the satellites tremendously.

Space-X has described the situation as unique. There were 40-49 small satellites. The satellites were launched February 3,2022, the launch cost about 1 million dollars. The satellites were very light, only about 575 pounds or 260 kilograms. The ground controllers tried to save them by putting them in a hypernation type stage and flying them, Even after all their efforts it did not work.

The storm that sent the satellites flying down to earth is what’s called a geomagnetic storm. These storms are caused by an efficient exchange of energy from solar winds. The storms can last days. The reason the atmosphere gets denser is because there is a current in what’s called the ionosphere. In the ionosphere there are energetic particles that add energy which inturn heats things up. This heat increases the destiny of the ionosphere. The largest of these storms are formed from the billions of tons exerted from the sun arriving at earth.
