Summary

Inspired by Nebraska rivers

While many may dispute the gender of glaciers, everyone accepts without refute that rivers are women. Anyone who lives or works on the banks of a river knows her for the fickle bitch she is. Giving life and taking life without warning. Here in Kentucky we decorate our flood walls with gaudy murals to placate the angry goddess of the Ohio to the north and the Mississippi to the west. In our river cities we know to build with her whims in mind for she will not be bound by walls, but if we give her room to stretch her fierce arms and bountiful thighs then she will at last subside her rage back into her rightful place to rest until the world causes her to rise again.
