Writing Our Future: American Creed is part of the National Writing Project’s family of youth publishing projects, all gathered under the Writing Our Future initiative.

Writing Our Future: American Creed invites...

Youth (13+) and young adults: Add your voice to the conversations sparked by the PBS documentary film American Creed. You can learn more about the film at americancreed.org.

Educators—teachers, librarians, and youth mentors:
Engage young people as they work towards responding to the film through writing, media, or art using any of the invitations to write included on this site. Educators can create accounts for youth at their school site or learning center to publish their work to a national, or even international, audience.

Note:
The documentary aired on PBS in February 2018 and remains available for educators to stream on the PBS website. The youth publishing website will remain open through 2019. A promotional toolkit is also available to help spread the word about this exciting project.
