My American Creed

For my American creed project I wrote a poem. My poem answers the question “What is your American creed?” My poem explains my American creed and it describes how I feel using three of my keywords. My keywords are tragedy, optimism, and home.

America is tragedy, optimism, and home.

I am proud to know that I can have responsibility,

I am proud to know that there are those that strive to build my community.

I am grateful for my achievements

I am glad I have confidence.

Even though there is lots of tragedy

I am still glad I feel safe and am able to be with my family.

With equality, everyone has a different religion,

And everyone gets to make their own decision.

America is full of diversity,

That is what makes us see equality.

Sometimes we want to be realistic,

But always try to stay optimistic.

This is America, America my home.
