Our Public Library
Summary
The South Hadley Public Library was founded in 1897. The town of South Hadley has two public libraries, the Gaylord Memorial Library, and The South Hadley Public Library. I’m going to tell you about the South Hadley Public Library. It is on the Connecticut River. It used to be in a different place, but the town built the new building in 2014. It has many cool things, including games, books, and librarians.
There are books and other things to do at the library. Don't be loud, be quiet. They have a sign that says, “be quiet.” They have two librarians at the library. The librarians are really nice. They make me feel happy a lot. We read funny books and read picture books. You can read books at the library. I love our town library. I love that they let you borrow books. If the library doesn’t have the book you want, you can look it up in the online catalog and ask for the book. The book will come to the South Hadley Public Library, and you can pick the book up. The library has a website that tells you all different things, like new books, how to get a library card, and other things. There are many activities at the library too, like crafts, video games, great snacks, and reading challenges in the summer.
I think you should go to the South Hadley Public Library because you can learn more about books. One time when my brother and I did a reading challenge, we won a trophy in the shape of a book. We read the most books. We still have it in our trophy case in our garage. That's why I think you should go to the library.
