Summary

Cybersecurity is important and sometimes, it can be bypassed and used for evil. Ransomware is malware that encrypts user's data so they can't get to it and they would have to pay a sum of money to get their data back. And I'm gonna solve it.

We are on devices a lot in today's day and age. Our devices go off of the internet to go to websites and do other things that we need to do every day. Over time, the internet has evolved to become safer for people to use and devices around the world have become strong to avoid malware and viruses on the device, but sometimes, they slip through the cracks of the devices and the internet and imprint themselves on your computer. A type of malware that is very hard to deal with is Ransomware. Ransomware involves a user's data encryption so the user cannot get to it. The only way to get the data back is to pay a sum of money for it. The paywall to get data back is why this malware is called "Ransomware." And I have a way to avoid having Ransomware put on your devices.

Whenever you go to a website that you've never been to or heard of before and the website seems a little sketchy, do research on the website and see if it gives you any viruses before you visit the website. Try to avoid .com.net websites as the website may try to trick you into visiting it. Whenever you see a website ending in 2 or more domain names, stay away, it could give you a virus, including Ransomware. Instead, stick to websites that have one domain, and if it still seems a bit sketchy, do research on the website to see if anyone has reported any viruses. If you can't find anything, you can freely go on the website. Talk with a friend or someone knowledgeable about computers about a sketchy website and see if it is safe. If not, report the website immediately and warn others to stay away. It might just save them from having their data lost until payment is complete. Also, stay away from random USB sticks you find. Hackers can install malware, including Ramsomware into those USB sticks to completely take over your computer. So if you find a USB stick on the floor, report it immediately.

It is always nice to be careful on the internet, and if you stay careful, you will be just fine with avoiding viruses.
