Summary

To one of the passengers of Flight 93 Jane Smith, this is a post to remember what you have done for this country.

Jane Smith was, by all accounts, a vibrant, loving woman who lived life to the fullest. Born in 1968 in Philadelphia, Jane spent most of her childhood in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. She was an athletic child who loved sports, especially basketball and softball. Jane attended college at Penn State University, where she majored in marketing. After graduating in 1990, she moved to San Francisco to begin her career.

In San Francisco, Jane thrived both personally and professionally. She quickly moved up the ranks in the tech marketing world, gaining a reputation as a talented, driven young woman. She married her college sweetheart, Dan, in 1995. The two enjoyed traveling the world together whenever they could get away from work. Jane especially loved hiking and exploring national parks.

Professionally, Jane was admired for her innovative marketing strategies and personable nature. She had just been promoted to Vice President of Marketing at her tech company prior to that tragic September 11th day. Jane was flying to New York City on Flight 93 for a business meeting when the plane was hijacked as part of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

According to accounts from other passengers, Jane helped lead efforts to fight back against the hijackers and try to regain control of the plane. Her brave actions in the face of grave danger likely saved many lives that would have been lost had the plane reached its intended target. While Jane did not survive, her heroic legacy lives on as an inspiration to us all. Her courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
