Family of Mark Bingham,

I'm writing this letter to you and your relatives because I've learned and read about Mr. Mark Bingham and what ultimately happened during Flight 93. September 11th was a huge day for all, the sudden crashes shocking and scaring people across the United States. Many people lost their lives, including Mark.

September 11th started as a normal day for everyone, whether people visited friends or family, or were simply doing everyday activities. Then, at 8:46 a.m., the first crash occurred when flight 11 crashed into the North Tower of World Trade Center, followed by the other tower, the Pentagon in Washington, DC, then Flight 93, heroically diverted from what was supposed to hit the White House, was crashed into an empty field in Pennsylvania, saving many lives but unfortunately at the cost of the forty passengers aboard the plane.

Mark boarded the plane around 8:42 a.m, intending to fly to San Francisco for his brother's wedding. The flight got hijacked around 9:28 a.m., the passengers realizing shortly of what was happening. Quickly, they formed a plan to try and take back control of the plane.

Mark was one of the clever people to help formulate the genius plan, ultimately leading to the plane crashing in Pennsylvania. Although this sacrifice is greatly mourned, Mark, a brave and outstanding person, will be remembered for his heroic actions. He not only helped with the fight against the hijackers, but saved many lives by not allowing the plan to crash into its intended destination.

I cannot imagine the pain and suffering this caused for your family, especially for Paul Holm, his partner.

After this, many rules and security changed on planes, such as reinforced doors, random passenger pat downs and additional screening, etc, making everyone boarding planes a lot safer to prevent anything this challenging happening.

Sincerely,

Devaney Bowers
