• To Deora Frances Bodley’s Family and Friends

While reading about Deora Frances Bodley, I learned that she loved children. I learned that Deora was a student at Santa Clara, who pursued a double major in French psychology. Deora often volunteered at animal shelters, The Special Olympics, St. Jude’s programs, and other events. She was a Bright 20 year old with a 10-year old sister named Murial. She also had a mother named Debby, a father, and a step mother in her loving family. 9/11 was a tragic event that took place on September 11th 2001 and many American landmarks were ruined or destroyed. Deora was a part of the historic event of Flight 93 on 9/11, and she will not be forgotten. She and 39 other passengers and crew members used brave actions to take down the hijackers and save their potential target, and people the plane was heading for. 9/11 also caused many conflicts around the world given the fact that the attacks were based on religious beliefs. 9/11 was followed with the U.S. leading the global “War on Terror”. 9/11 also caused big changes to airport security, and also led government officials into creating The Patriot Act. Deora Frances Bodley was an influence to all, and a great role model around the world and in her community. Deora and I had a thing in common, with the fact we both love animals. The loss of Deora Bodley was tragic because she seemed like a lovely person and will never be forgotten.
