Summary

My response describes how words, symbols, and rituals express the American Creed.

Words, symbols and rituals are important values that help to express the American identity. These values help unite people through shared experiences, creating unity and defining what it means to be American.

Words such as freedom and opportunity are great descriptions of the American identity. The Declaration of Independence's phrases, "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" represent these key values and create common ground for all Americans. Words like this inspire people to live freely and to strive for better life while reminding us of the key principles that unite us.

Symbols, such as the American flag represent our powerful freedom and democracy that enables our nations unity. The stars make every state feel pride and belonging while also representing our history. During national holidays, such as the Fourth of July, the flag is displayed everywhere as a symbol that connects Americans to celebrate our history and values.

Rituals, such as citizenship ceremonies represent American values as they mark the long journey to becoming a citizen, showing that America is a land of opportunity. These ceremonies symbolize new beginnings and embrace American ideals. These rituals show that no matter where you come from there is always an opportunity for you in America.

To conclude words, symbols, and rituals are vital to expressing the American Creed. These shared values help to connect and unite Americans. By looking at these elements of the American Creed, you can see how these values can bring our nation together. Unity is essential for the strength and future of the United States, and through these values, it can be achieved.
