An American Creed as an American Dream:

When people think of The American Dream we often hear the term "white picket fence"... but who are we to assume that this term is what every American wants? Especially when a core American value is the right of freedom in choice and ideals.

We generalize the term American Dream like it is something that everyone can agree they want, but what if we changed the meaning of "white picket fence", to a label for all of the different dreams that American people can have.

For example, one person's "white picket fence" might be a high rise apartment in New York City, where they walk to their corporate job everyday and meet their friends after work on Fridays. Whereas someone else's "white picket fence" might be a compound with horses and dogs and hens where they live off of their own land and spend their days with their family.

That is the uniqueness and ability for people to make their choice that speaks volumes to me about America.

To realize that every American Creed is different, and not all "white picket fence" dreams are the same. But harmoniously blend together in a diverse world that we, as Americans, call home.
