American Creed

American should not threaten to ban weapons.

By Anonymous from Hazen Middle School in North Dakota

America to me is a country where you can be free as long as you obey simple laws.

Ways we can make our country better is by not banning so many things, like guns for example. Guns don’t kill people; people kill people. Our second amendment is the right to bear arms. We need to honor this amendment.

Plus, if we take away the guns, the murderers will resort to a more primitive way of murder like knives or baseball bats. Yet, if you ban those, they’ll use fists, and you can’t take away fists. If you take away knives, bats, or guns it still won’t stop murder.

While we can't stop murder, we can use weapons to help defend ourselves.
