Summary

American

The American Dream is that people can achieve success with equal opportunity. Through hardwork and determination the American Dream can be reached. It doesn’t matter what you look like or how you act, everybody has the right to be treated equally.

The United States is a country built on immigration. People immigrated to the United States in the late 1800’s because it was seen as the ‘land of opportunities.’ They wanted a fresh start where there was economic stability instead of rising taxes, shortages in land and jobs, crop failure, and famine.

In other countries, people do not have the luxuries that we have. In some countries, you can’t choose what religion you are a part of. Some people do not have the choice of education and even some that do are just being taught what is deemed acceptable to learn. At one point in United States history, African Americans and women were unable to vote. Look how far we have progressed since then. There are twenty-seven amendments that protect are rights such as freedom of speech, religion, and press.

My American creed is that I am free to be whoever I want to be and follow my dreams however I choose to do so. I can eat whatever I want, wear whatever I want, I can choose what I believe in, and most importantly choose how I want to live my life. I learn something new everyday instead of having someone spitting out information at me to pass along to someone else.
