Flight 93 Prompt 3: Unequal Lives
Summary
Throughout the world, I've seen many problems but one that is the biggest thorn in society's side is the unequal lives we live. Ever since the creation of the world discrimination has always been messing with society, if it was against races or cultures it has been taking effect. If the higher-ups of society didn't like something then the community would follow. This has been prominently seen in the past with African Americans and Jews, but we have overcome those by coming together as a whole society.
For starters, African Americans have been mistreated for a long while. They were used as slaves up until communities had an enlightenment movement and saw how the rights of others were being taken away. As a result, slavery was banned in multiple countries including the US which had a war to abolish slavery. An instance later in history was not with race but with religion. Jews were slaughtered in packs during WWII just because Hitler looked down upon them. They were free from this tyranny when the Allies came together to take down Hitler. And during the September 11th attacks Flight 93 was taken down from the hijackers because brave souls fought back.
These all have one occurring theme of how if societies and communities stand against problems we can solve them. We only have decreased these problems, yes, but it's still good they have decreased but we have problems that have grown. Like LGBTQ+ discrimination, it's been shown that homophobia, transphobia, etc. have been a huge problem not just in the US but the world. This has made people hide who they truly are. And the COVID-19 situation has made people discriminate against Asians because of the beliefs the news has spread about them. There are even more problems just like these but I don't have time to talk about all of them. As long as we stand up as one we can address and fix these issues just like we have done many times before.
