Family of Nicole Carol Miller,

To Nicole’s Parents, Step parents, siblings and other family. Nicole was a very energetic and ambitious person from what I've read and what you guys all remember her by. While reading about Nicole in school, we learned that she was a student at West Valley College, and was planning to transfer to California University to finish out her degree. We learned about how she stayed very busy. She worked hard as a part time waitress at Chili's, was also a fitness trainer in her hometown gym in San Jose, and she worked out daily. To wind down she did 2 hour workouts. She also did promotions for beverage distributors. She and her friend booked a last minute trip to the east coast, and she went with her boyfriend to Manhattan. Then their flights back home were different. Nicole’s flight got rescheduled due to thunderstorms. If the thunderstorm never happened she would've gotten to go home. I can’t imagine being on the plane knowing you're not going home and not being able to do anything about it. She must have been so scared, but she was part of a very brave group on that plane. She had a relationship of 6 years with her boyfriend. We read that Nicole was an amazing friend. She made her 21 years of life as joyful and fun as she could have. One Radio Shack worker that we read about only knew her for an hour and could sense her sweetness. Nicole worked so hard her mother begged her to rest. In high school she played all 4 years of softball, she was on the varsity swim and dive team. After high school she liked to still play softball, ride horses, to go on hikes, and liked to jog. She dreamed of being a pilot, but her eyesight was too bad. Her smile lit up the room, and her personality made everyone, including strangers, feel at home. She gave her life for many others with bravery and heroism. 9/11 was a very terrifying, confusing day for everyone. Everyone was praying and hoping for the best for everyone on that flight. No one knew if their family member was going to come home or not. Everyone else during this tragedy was scared because they did not know what the plane was headed and where it was going. The people aboard Flight 93 overcame their fear and fought back. Thousands of people would not be here today if it wasn’t for your daughter and other passengers' bravery on the flight. When I was reading about Nicole I learned that she loved to fly and to sit and look out the window. I'm incredibly sorry for your loss. Nicole was a very brave person to stand up and help fight with the other passengers and do what they did. Your daughter, sister, friend is truly a hero. We will forever remember her story.

Love, Baylie Shears
