Mark Bingham Flight 93 Attack 9/11/01

Family of Mark Bingham,

I am so devastated by the loss of Mark. I am extremely sorry for your loss. When I was reading about Mark Bingham, in class this year, I began to realize how good of a person he was in life. I have learned that he was a former rugby player for the California Bears, which is amazing. While reading, I learned that Mark was 6-foot-4 and he was a Back-rower for the Bears rugby team. I also learned that he graduated with a degree in social science. He also became a public relations executive and created his own business, which was named The Bingham Group. These experiences would have made him a great teammate in the major challenge aboard Flight 93. The group of passengers and crew on that flight were heroes. All over our country, September 11th was a very difficult day that would lead to major conflicts. The actions of the passengers and crew aboard Flight 93 were one of the greatest stories in the war on terror. Many people were lost during this devastating event. Mark was most likely a person to help fight back! While reading I found out what he did during the attack. He tried to help the people as much as he could which involved fighting back against the hijackers. I learned that the reason he was on Flight 93 was that he overslept and had to get on a later flight. He was the last passenger to board the plane. Just think of the hijackers looking at all the strong people that got on the plane. That was probably the reason that they delayed the attack. I read that the reason why Mark was on a plane was because of his friend’s wedding and for a business trip. During the hijacking he called you and said that the plane he was on had been hijacked and the men said that they had a bomb, which must have been terrifying. This is such an amazing story of heroism that happened on a tragic day.
