Summary

My Great-Grandpa's life and impact on our country.

My American Creed is someone who represents the core principles and ideals that embody our country. I believe that American Creed is the idea that individuals have the power to shape their own destinies, regardless of their background or circumstances. It is about the pursuit of happiness, and the right to life, liberty, and property.

I believe someone who represents the American Creed is my Great-Grandpa. He was a first generation American and his parents were immigrants from Germany. He volunteered for the Army at 22 to go and fight in World War 2 as a medic. He was the first generation to graduate from college at Syracuse University. He created his own path in the world by opening his own deli shop and also becoming a local fireman volunteer for over 50 years. He forged his dream into the world and created a family and a good life. He built his own house and impacted hundreds if not thousands of people's lives around him. When he was buried, it felt like the entire state of New York was there which showed the true testament of his character. I believe he represents the American Creed because he was the first American of his family, representing his country and creating an impactful life in a small part of our country.
