My American Creed

Americans live by a variety of values each sparking from a range of experiences and cultures that makes the United States a melting pot. The freedoms granted to American provide us with a opptertunties like no other to choose our paths. However, with the expansion of social media, our beliefs on what is means to be American have changed. Yet, despite these changes, My American values remain the same. The values that I belive express what it means to be American is materialism, freedom, and perservereance. 

Americans have placed an increasing importance on materalism. I belive we should turn away from materialism, and chase the experiences that shape us. Materialsim is not unusual to American culture, yet it has grown increaslinly worse with the rise of social media and how we protray ourselves. We are chasing products in hopes they will improve how others see or value us. We are not the clothes we wear or the cars we drive. Rather we are our actions and belifs. Not everyone who drives a Mclearn is a good person. In the future, I hope to build my expeirnces, not just my wealth. The next value I belive in is freedom. 

Freedom isn't just our abilty to make descions but also the oppertunites we have for success. Freedom allows us to speak agaisnt the government and be protected when we get charged for crimes, with the 6 admenment. Americans have used the freedoms granted to achieve amazing feats. I hope to use my freedom to vote, and shape the America not only potlically, but also socially. I am extemely gratful to be born in a country with such great freedoms, and as a result I will take full advantage of them. Finally, perserverane is my last American Creed. 

Perserverance isn't just overcoming obstacles. It is also using those obstacles to shape our charcter. Americans have persevered a lot. I have aswell, through family loss and physical challanges. Those experinces have made me a better person, sparking postive expericens. I hope that my perserveance continues to grow to shape me into a better person. 

While my creed is perosnal, they are all ideals every American has faces. Americans have perserved through the World Wars and the Great Depression. Used their freedoms to shape public policy and gain poltical freeodms of their own. They have focused on famial values rather than material status. Like America, I hope these ideals continue to shape my future into something better.
