American Creed In Symbols

Symbols such as the Statue of Liberty and the bald eagle can strongly express the American creed through their histories and what they represent.

The Statue of Liberty not only represents the liberty contained in its title but also the relationships that are built between different groups of people. The Statue of Liberty was given to the U.S. as a gift from France. It represents the alliance between France and the United States during the American Revolution. When immigrants first saw the statue when coming to America, they knew that they would be able to connect with hundreds of people. The Statue of Liberty does not only represent America's Creed regarding international affairs, but it also represents that of the people. Just as two different countries can put aside differences and work towards a common goal, in America, citizens can do the same thing. No matter where someone is from, Americans will not focus on their differences, but instead on their similarities. For example, in volunteer organizations, hundreds of people with all different backgrounds come together to support a cause thp such as helping the environment or people in need.

Another image that is symbolic of the American Creed is the bald eagle. The ability for the eagle to travel wherever it wants to parallels the ability for Americans to do the same. Americans have to freedom to practice their own religions, express their opinions, live where and how they want, and much more. Just as a bald eagle can use its wings to fly to a new location, Americans can change their own lives in the way that they want. The bald eagle also represents America's strength. The fierceness and strength of the bald eagle displays the ability for America to fight for what it believes in both domestic issues and international issues.
