I recently made a digital story over what makes up the American Creed. I knew I needed to discuss soldiers because without them we wouldn't have the freedom to be Americans.

My digital story is about the American creed and what it means for Americans.

This is a masking project of an eagle filled with the words Justice, Freedom, Equality, Unity made in Photoshop to show the values the American Creed.

With this essay, we were able to explore for ourselves what it means to be an American, which is impactful for every person. When I write I incorporate quotes to find meaning. So I leave you with this: “Life itself is a quotation” - Jorge Luis Borges

This is a poem I wrote about the values that America cherishes and exemplifies the rights that everyone possesses. No matter how different you may look or the way you act, everyone is given the right to be treated the same and this is why we should truly value the American Creed.

The American Creed: a statement of the values and ideas we consider to be “American.” It is not officially established, but events throughout American history suggest that the creed is very real. But why is the creed important, and what does it say about this country?

We had to pick someone from history that represents American Creed. I picked Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln has done so anything for this country so I thought he was an example of American Creed.

To learn about the American Creed, we made a Photoshop masking project. This project has taught me a lot about the land I live in. I chose this image because it symbolizes the foundations of our country.

This is an image I made to represent our first president, George Washington. With the help of my peers and facilitators, I was able to 'mask' George Washington using the words I believe represent the American Creed.

During our American Creed project, we all made a digital story to represent our personal idea of what the American Creed means to us. I saw the American Creed as a representation of Patriotism, Equality, Unity, and Freedom.

This is the digital story about the American Creed that I created in my critical literacies class. I wanted to show what America was really like in a poetic form. I'm glad I got to create this because I got to express my ideas.

I chose an image of Oprah to represent the American Creed because she has been a very impactful person on America. The words I used were, Freedom, Equality, Service and Diversity.

As we have wrapped up our unit on the American Creed, we wrote an expository essay in which we wrote what the American Creed means to us personally. I wrote that the American Creed encompasses our past, the present, and the future, as well as everything America was meant to be.

We used Photoshop to create an image of someone we feel impacted America. I chose Lucille Ball because I grew up watching I Love Lucy and knew that the show was a big part of other peoples' childhoods as well as mine.

I made my digital story to capture how much I appreciate what my country does. I also made it as a tribute to people in the military. My brother was in the army so it was a emotional subject. Because I connected with the topic, I think it made it so much better.

My masking assignment is over Martin Luther King Jr. I will continue to look up to his bravery. He understood the importance of diversity and freedom for all. This man not only stood up for what he believed in but also made a difference in history.

I wrote this poem to show the good and the bad in America. I wanted to highlight the good things about our country but I also draw awareness to the bad things to encourage people to make a change.
