Southern Living
Summary
Every single being on this earth is afraid of something. From the fear of spiders like myself or snakes, rats, roaches, heights, or even the dark. We all have fears; we all have things that keep us up at night.
I've been born and raised in Mississippi. My family is known throughout the small town of Puckett. I believe in fried chicken and going to church on Sundays. I will always be who I am because I was raised not to be afraid of the unknown. Mississippi values make me who I am from saluting the American flag to the Mississippi mud between my toes
Even though my parents raised me to be tough… I'm going to be honest, if a spider comes across my path then I would be a southern gentleman and let him pass first. Now, you may be wondering why I'm so afraid of spiders. Well, it's a scary story so buckle your seat belts, we are going for a ride...
Once upon a time there was a country boy who was not afraid of too much, but one day after the boy was finished working, he decided to take a bath to get the sweat and dirt off. So the boy got in the shower like his normal everyday routine, but little did the boy know there was a spider looking at him in the corner!
The boy spotted the spider. He briefly turned away to put the soap down, but when the boy turned around there was no spider!
Freaking out, the boy jumped out of the shower wet, soapy, and scared. “IT’S NAKED AND AFRAID!” the boy thought to himself. But the sad thing is, he could never find that darn spider.
From that moment on, every time the boy gets in the shower, he’s keeping an eye out for that spider. Hey, even country boys are afraid of something!
