Clarissa Scott Delany "Joy" visual poetry analysis. The assignment includes images that connect to the poem. Determined literary devices, themes, and structure to understand the messages the author was trying to convey.

I think the title actually means joy. If I just read the title I would think that the poem would talk about someone experiencing joy/happiness. A metaphor compares two unlike things. This poem uses metaphors to show how much joy this person was filled with. The poet uses metaphors to make a deeper understanding rather than just describing it. The poet uses metaphors, similes, and imagery in her poem “Joy ''. She uses similes and imagery to create a bigger picture and lets the reader's imagination understand the person's joy. The rhyme pattern is ABCDEFGHIJK. The two themes of the poem are love and laughter.
