I think the title actually means joy. If I just read the title I would think that the poem would talk about someone experiencing joy/happiness. A metaphor compares two unlike things. This poem uses metaphors to show how much joy this person was filled with. The poet uses metaphors to make a deeper understanding rather than just describing it. The poet uses metaphors, similes, and imagery in her poem “Joy ''. She uses similes and imagery to create a bigger picture and lets the reader's imagination understand the person's joy. The rhyme pattern is ABCDEFGHIJK. The two themes of the poem are love and laughter.
