For the Our Democracy project I chose a picute of Luiz Romero's Homcoming Royalty poster.

I ran across this picture a few days ago. This picture represents democracy because students were able to nominate different people and were able to vote. I voted for this person and he won the race for homecoming king. This shows that every vote counts and the people have the power. This picture represents how people are able to nominate their leaders and representatives.

Democracy means people are able to express their beliefs and ideas. It means that everybody has freedoms and are equal. People are able to agree upon how they want their community or society to be run. This can be by electing leaders and voting on new rules. Democracy gives this power to the people and to its citizens of the community. I believe that our democracy is so important because of its ability to change.
