9//11 Letter For Wanda Anita Green's Family
Summary
To the immediate family of Wanda Anita Green, I’m from Barrackville Middle School in West Virginia, and this year we learned about United Flight 93.
I was immediately inspired to write to your family after hearing Wanda’s story. I found out how she was a flight attendant, and she was helping take care of passengers on the plane until the hijackers took over. The plane was delayed due to a technical error, and the three other planes started crashing into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon almost immediately after United Flight 93 was in the air. If United Flight 93 was not delayed, the hijackers could have done even more damage and our country would have been in more of a mess. However, the delay gave the passengers time to act. With the plane's direction it was most likely headed for Washington D.C., our country's capital. I learned about Wanda and found out she was a mother of two, a church deacon, and one of the first African American flight attendants. I also learned how Wanda dreamed of flying around the world as a young child, she fulfilled that dream by being a flight attendant for 29 years. I understand that losing a loved one is difficult, however I know that Wanda must have been in the middle of the fight to regain control of the plane due to her leadership skills and her experience on airplanes. I also learned that Wanda was a huge part of the United Flight 93 due to her important role for the plane and the passengers.
I hope this letter finds you well, with sympathy, Reagan Raikes.
