What Makes the American People

My focus will be on how cultural diversity and how it brings the people together

By Nicolas T. from Copper Hills High School in Utah

Cultural diversity, I believe, is what makes the American people. All people see is what tears us apart and nobody sees how it brings us together. There is more love than hate but people just want to see the hate. When I was like 9-10 years old there was a small size truck stand festival where there was Indian food, African food, Mexican food, etc.  You could find a different race at each stand who were being welcomed in and taught how there culture does stuff and I believe that is what the news should focus stuff.

I am half white, half Mexican but I still indulge in my culture. While I was at this festival with my dad, he is full Mexican, this Indian man named Arjun asked about how we do stuff and we invited him over to the stand, had him tried some food, and told him all about our culture. He invited us to his stand and we had biryani. It was super good and he told us about his culture, how they did stuff, and I had the best time ever.

When you think of how many culture are in America it is crazy and I believe it is what makes America. America has its downs but I believe it has more ups than you would think. With every culture coming together you really get to see the beauty of America and realize what the word freedom means allowing all these cultures to thrive together and protect each other.
