My American Creed
Summary
My American Creed is how I treat others in America because having a united country with individuals who represent peace, pride, and perspective is what I believe represents a great country. Peace stands for having respect for other people. You never know what someone is going through so treat others how you would like to be treated. Pride stands for loving our country. No matter what beliefs or opinions you may have about our country, having pride for America will unite everyone. It doesn't matter what race, political party, gender, or age you are, if everyone showed love for our country and we built off that then we would live in a much better place. One of the saddest times in our country was 9/11. Although, after that tragic event took place, America became so unified for some time after. Everyone worked together to repair what was attempted to get taken from us. Perspective is also an important quality in America. We live in one of the best countries in the world, and oftentimes people don't realize how gifted we are to live here and not other countries that experience poverty and corruption. For example, in North Korea, people have little to know rights and many suffer from starvation. They also get brainwashed in their school systems and are forced to worship their "leader" every day. Even putting that in perspective, I'm sure there are many places worse than North Korea as well. Many foreigners think of Americans as entitled people but if everyone would just put things in perspective, I feel as if people will be happier knowing we are living in a pretty gifted environment. I know that many people have extremely unfortunate circumstances in America as well, and I'm not undermining any of those people. Although, I would say the majority of us live in good enough environments in which we have various possibilities of what we can choose to do with our lives. All in all, I believe if everyone lived by these 3 Ps, then America would start to change for the good.
