American Creed through Ideology

Through the course of my life there have been multiple ideologies that I believe resemble the American Creed. I don't truly believe that every single person should pursue the same things for their Creed, yet I do believe that if people are able to uphold some of these morals, we as a community can come closer to fulfilling our American Creed as One. I believe that we should treat our neighbors like family and support one another.

In my life, I have lived on a cul-de-sac along with multiple kids my age. We grew up being outside until midnight, laughing and running, and playing in the snow. We grew up as family. We never saw each other differently because we weren't related, we failed to see anything but the similarities within ourselves. As we got older the ability to remain close carried on. We still never talk about how our families may have different political beliefs, or that we have different choices in our possible career paths. Growing up I knew I could knock on any door in my neighborhood and instantly be treated like I belong. I believe that every person is similar to the people around them, in more ways than they may guess. Having the ability to be close with those people in your life, such as your neighbors, will continue to unite this country on multiple levels. 

I also believe we should support one another no matter what. We live in a society where it is often hard to see past the red and blue lines in our community. If we continue to work on seeing past our differences we can come closer as one. There are times when people also see our pasts as areas for improvement. We need to celebrate the wins in our lives, no matter how small. Telling someone "You could have done better" only diminishes their successes and belittles their accomplishments. If you can take a second in the day to just congratulate someone it may impact them in ways you couldn't imagine. 

Overall, there are some small chances we can make to our everyday lives that can change our world for the better. If this American Creed can be carried on, there is no limit to the good we can do.
